At the start of hull work it was thought we would just splice in portions of side planks where needed & the scarf fixture was a great tool. |

Seen here on the starboard side, the water followed the ribs & planks down from the deck filler fittings. Screws were exposed by sanding then painted surface & screws removed. The cut was easily made from the outside of the hull. |

Here the fixture is still in place after cutting the tapers joint on the lower part of the rib that remains. This was in the rounded part of the hull leading from the topside down into the bilge. |

With the fixture removed & a hole cut through the side planks for clamp access, the are would then be vacuumed & sealed with CPES |
